Vandaag heeft Amsterdam Airport Schiphol tijdens het galadiner in Hong Kong ter gelegenheid van de uitreiking van de CAPA Aviation Awards for Excellence de prestigieuze onderscheiding "International Airport of the Year 2012" ontvangen.
CAPA (Centre for Aviation) is een toonaangevend onafhankelijk onderzoeksbureau op het gebied van marktinformatie en -analyse voor de luchtvaartsector.

Passenger Terminal EXPO & CONFERENCE provides the most significant opportunity for airport and airline industries to debate current issues and form business relationships on a global scale. 2013 will be the 19th international conference and exhibition for passenger terminal design, management, security and technology.

Belangrijkste vakbeurs
De Inter Airport Europe is wereldwijd de belangrijkste vakbeurs op het gebied van luchthaventechnologie. Gerichte, hooggekwalificeerde en internationale vak bezoekers op uw stand maken de Inter Airport tot een zeer aantrekkelijke beurs om aan deel te nemen. De cijfers onderstrepen dat: in 2011 meer dan 12.600 bezoekers uit 123 landen. De beurs telde 606 exposanten uit 34 landen. Meer informatie vindt u op de website www.interairport.com/europe.

Vanaf 2014 worden passagiers van en naar het vliegtuig vervoerd met electrische bussen
Schiphol gaat vanaf 2014 elektrische bussen inzetten voor het vervoer van passagiers van en naar het vliegtuig. Schiphol is de eerste luchthaven ter wereld die het passagiersvervoer op het platform elektrisch maakt. De komende periode vindt een Europese aanbesteding plaats voor de aanschaf van 35 bussen.

After a four year period in which the Netherlands Airport Technology (NAT) board 2008-2012 successfully represented the affiliated companies, it was time to install a new chairman of the NAT board 2012-2016 who would pursue the NAT goals. As a result of a voting, the members have unanimously chosen Mr. Johan Godin as the chairman of the NAT board for 2012-2016. He replaces Mr. Jack van Gelderen who has been chairman from 2004 until 2012. Mr. Johan Godin is Managing Director and co-founder of AviaVox BV.

BERLIJN - De nieuwe luchthaven van Berlijn wordt pas op 27 oktober volgend jaar geopend. Dat zal de raad van toezicht van het vliegveld vrijdag besluiten, berichtte de Duitse krant Bild dinsdag. De vertraagde opening van Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg Willy Brandt kost het Duitse bedrijfsleven miljoenen euro's per maand.

ENSCHEDE - Luchthaven Twente moet zo snel mogelijk alleen op groene energie draaien. Binnen tien jaar moet de toekomstig exploitant alle fossiele brandstoffen hebben uitgebannen. Die doelstelling is toegevoegd aan de voorwaarden voor de concessie. Het voorstel voor de concessie is woensdag naar de gemeenteraad van Enschede en Provinciale Staten van Overijssel gestuurd.

Vanderlande Industries will build and integrate a new fully automated baggage handling system for Pulkovo Saint Petersburg Airport in Russia. The new baggage handling system, worth 15 million Euros, will be integrated in a new passenger terminal that will give the airport the capacity to  manage the growing amount of baggage that passengers will check-in for their flights from and to the airport.

DHMİ has signed the Airport Operation contract with TAV A.Ş. at a ceremony participated by the Minister of Transportation, Maritime Affairs and Communication Binali Yıldırım. Minister Yıldırım, "İzmir has waited for a long time for such a service, we better complete the terminal in 20 months. İzmir's airport will be bigger than that of Ankara with this contract."

Veghel, Siegen - After working very closely together for many years, Vanderlande Industries and Beewen agreed on a take-over of Beewen by Vanderlande. This take-over further strengthens the position of Vanderlande as an integrated player with a full product portfolio.

In the new set-up Beewen will be the AS/RS centre of competence within Vanderlande with the prospect of growth in line with the strategic ambitions of Vanderlande Industries.

ATLANTA - Vanderlande Industries completed successfully the baggage handling system with inline screening system terminal D at George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, part of the fourth-largest airport system in the United States and the sixth-largest in the world. "We have focused on 'Delivering Certainty' to this customer," commented Mr. de Groot, VP Operations of Vanderlande Industries USA. "We are proud to be serving them for several projects in the last 5 years.

Cardiff Airport has set up a new partnership with Netherlands-based company AviaVox which will change the way tannoy announcements will be heard in the terminal from the end of December 2010.
